Job Description: Our client, a leading provider of Information Security products and services is seeking a Pre-Sales Engineer to support sales of it Managed Security Services offerings.

The Pre-Sales Engineer performs the following function: technical pre-sales support for family of security products and services

The Pre-Sales Engineer will work with the sales team in a pre-sales role to develop and position solutions involving products. Presentations and conference call discussions are a critical part of this position. During the qualifying process, confirm that products meet the prospect's requirements and assist sales in technical qualification. Throughout the proposal process, articulate and demonstrate solutions, influence customer's technical requirements, and position products relative to competition.

The Pre-Sales Engineer must obtain a working knowledge of all products. Must be able to install and demonstrate all products with a particular focus on the product set defined by their manager. The Pre-Sales Engineer must obtain more than one product expertise (expertise categories as defined by product marketing) as assigned by the manager. Working closely with assigned sales personnel, the Senior SE is Responsible for the technical aspects of the sales cycle and is often involved with the client post purchase.

* Accountable for the technical aspects of the sales cycle by providing pre (70%) and post-sales (30%) support.

* Provide training for both sales and technical staff of channel partners.

* Participate in any technical discussions or presentations.

* Deliver technical presentations - give an in-depth overview of solution and capabilities

* Establish and qualify suitable technology partners to increase our chances of winning business and add value to the customer solution.

* Develop documentation to support the configuration requirements of different applications.

* Assist in the creation of strategies designed to optimize revenue and profitability from each account.

* Establish and maintain relationships with key technical contacts at each account.

* Liaise with Product Management, Engineering and R&D to insure successful delivery of solutions to Strategic Customers and continued customer satisfaction thereafter.

* Provide support throughout RFP process, researching, composing, and delivering responses to RFP's
Job Requirements: * BA/BS required in a technical field.

* 5+ years experience providing pre and post-sales technical support along with customer training.

* Intrusion Detection, network security, endpoint security, web application security experience.

* Enterprise application software implementation experience.

* 3-5 years experience with Windows NT/2000/XP, Active Directory, Exchange, NT domains and Novell network infrastructure.

* Practical and applied knowledge of the Microsoft server operating systems, including Windows NT4.0, Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2003 Server

* 3+ years experience with IP LANs and WANs, including highly available, redundant networks, firewalls, Voice over IP network design, QoS, routing protocols.

* Network Security experience a plus.

* Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Must have excellent interpersonal and time management skills.

* Ability to travel up to 40-50% required.

* Relevant technical certifications such as MCSE, UNIX, CCA/CCEA, Cisco and Solaris are a plus

* CISSP a plus
